NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. Initially started as a project to take quality education to all corners of the country, NPTEL now offers close to 600+ courses for certification every semester in about 22 disciplines.

LocalGuru is one of the software among the engineering colleges where accessing NPTEL videos has become simple and hassle free.

Users can access NPTEL Videos through a web interface from the LAN without connecting to internet. This software contains a HTTP video streaming facility. NPTEL Videos are indexed in this CMS (content management system) and can be searched with various keywords.
